  • rights for poc
  • rights for transgender people
  • rights for people with disabilities
  • working to end hate crimes instead of working towards laws that only have an effect after people are fucking raped and murdered

People need to realize how much the internet and the access to information it gives us has helped all of these things. It effects the whole. You wouldn’t be able to complain or inform people of how important they are so easily. Can everyone shut up now?

Uh, no. We’re not gonna shut up and it’s incredibly privileged and rude for you to say/ask that. Yeah, this SOPA shit is important and affects a lot of people, but you know what’s STILL important and HAS BEEN important for a lot longer than the internet, but no body is up in arms over it because it doesn’t affect their free consumption of media: All of that. 

Don’t dismiss our anger over this as if it’s SO inconvenient to you.

I am SO FUCKING GLAD the OP wrote this.  I think this everytime something about SOPA shows up on my dash.
