Some days I love being a trans woman

    thefangirlslayer:

Some days I wake up and just love being trans.

I love that it fucks with cissexist assholes who don’t know shit.

I love the fact that I got to choose my own name.

I love the fact that since I have come out I feel free to be me and no longer have to adhere to what people think I should be based on the fact that I was assigned male at birth.

I love the fact that being a girl and woman is awesome and fucking empowering! Despite this what society tells us.

I love the fact that my body feels more like mine the longer I have been hormones.

I love the fact that I am me and that the world has seen the real me and has all but forgotten that person I was forced to be.

Yep, some days I love being a trans woman! =)

  2. Dialogue

My 4 yr old cousin on Trans women and My Little Pony

    • Soul: Rarity is a trans lady pony.
    • Me: What do you mean?
    • Soul: She has a horn, like a unicorn. Some of the ponies have horns and some of them don't, but they are all lady ponies.
    • Me: Soul-
    • Soul: Like when you told me some ladies have penises and some don't. It's the same thing. But with unicorns.
    • Me: But-
    • Soul: No, I know. Twilight has a horn too. But she's a girl too.
    • Me: I suppose so.
    • Soul: Can we watch again?

    Girl Talk 2011 - Tobi Hill-Meyer

Tobi addresses the similarities between transmisogyny and femmephobia from her perspective as a butch trans woman, and explains the mutual ally relationship that she has formed with the cis femme women in her life.

     O.M.F.G.

I have never loved a video this much. ever.

You NEED TO WATCH THIS ENTIRE THING.  It is long, but so SO worth it.

I know that I was just complaining about how everything having to do with femmes is always seen froma  butch perspective, but Tobi does an incredible job speaking on her own experiences of transphobia and relaying them to her deep bonds with femmes.

    Seriously, watch this.

And Tobi - I am in love with you.  If you are ever in WI we need to have lots of coffee.
